Today, 6-1-16, we submitted our namesake app, Virtual Halo, to the Apple App Store for review. The app was conceived of on a stressful day in February 2015, when I was thrust upon a situation that very few American's encounter.
Adventure has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. "Land of the Free and Home of the Brave" may have been the slogan that started it. And then Nike came up with "Just Do It". "No Fear" was a brand in the 1990's and I can still remember seeing the poster on my brother's bedroom wall - to live your life - an adventurous one at that - without fear. That's life.
From the jungles of Colombia, backpacking Europe with less than $10 to my name; waiding in the Louve's fountain for spare change and hitch hiking the Pacific Coast Highway in California. Each adventure starts somewhere. I've embraced it and I encourage others to do so as well.
Virtual Halo is dedicated to the men and women that live their life. They don't back down because of terrorists or stay home due to fear instead of a night out dancing with friends. We have one life and it's meant to be lived.
My favorite motto is taken from Life Magazine. In dedication of the immentent launch of Virtual Halo - an app that I've conceived of and built for eveyone - to give them and their loved ones peace of mind so they can live their lives to the fullest, I dedicate the following quotation as the enduring motto for Virtual Halo:
"To see things thousands of miles away, Things hidding behind walls and within rooms, Things dangerous to come to, To draw closer, To see and be amazed."
What is the secret of life? We don't know, but one thing's for certain - we're not sitting around waiting to found out; we're out on the trail, up in a plane, kayaking down the river... in pursuit. Because that's who we are. We're adventurers.
